a post, so...
1. I'm always amazed by tessellation origami (even
more amazed by the patience of the maker ;)), so I
wanted to try my hands on it. Well, I ended up with
a strange creature. But I think, I've learned some
facts about creasing.. so, maybe next time I will have
a tessellation origami ;)

2. Last year I thought I wouldn't need to go to the
hairdresser again for at least three years. But my
hair had split ends, that I finally let it cut yesterday.

3. Remember the butterfly, which found it's way to my
kitchen? I let it go after the photo shot. I'm not sure,
how this one came to the stairway. It has been there for
at least two weeks now. I didn't want to let it go outside,
cause it was wet, cold and windy (now I could if I would,
since it's warm again, but I'm not sure for how long..).

Sometimes it was sitting on the curtain, sometimes on
the window sill and the last days it was on the floor.
But I wasn't sure either, how long it would survive in
here, since it doesn't get any food (does anybody know
about how long a peacock butterfly usually can live?).
So, yesterday I decided to provide it with food. I bought
some oranges for us (my boy is having a cold) and put
a slice on a plastic cover for the butterfly (they always
serve orange and banana in the butterfly house). Using
a thin twig I managed to lift it from the floor to the
orange slice. I watched it for a little while. I couldn't see
it's proboscis, so I'm not sure, either it can eat or not
(and if it can't because it has lost it's proboscis e.g., am
I torturing it by serving the slice of orange?). I realize,
I know nearly nothing(!!) about butterflies...
Later in the evening it sat on the window frame. And
it still is this morning.

Hi Devi, I came across this paper blog that I thought you might find interesting. :D
http://allthingspaper-annmartin.blogspot.com/
It's a Tagpfauenauge. It should not be awake in winter (and therefore not eating at all), but it's the warm weather that irritates so many butterflies this year. I found one, too.
The only way to help it make it through the cold season is to let it outside. It will find itself a cool place where it will sleep all winter long (the basement would have been a good place, or some place in the garden). Theoretically, butterflies can be fed with sugary water, but never during the cold season.
