the next day

I should have posted this yesterday actually..

This is how the colors turned out, if I made flower
beads using the glass rods I've made on Wednesday -
the greens come out lighter.

the results

I've used the darker green one in my Trifiori necklace
"into the ocean".

...

Guess what.. I of course couldn't ruin the arrangement
right away and look at that smiling face I've found on
the next morning...

I think, she's happy to stay there over the night ;)

And now I think, I'm going to bed early (earlier than
usual) tonight, since I feel like getting sick - headache,
muscle pain, stiff neck (which doesn't go even if I
already slept on the warm pillow last night) and
burning eyes. Well, surrounded by sick people I guess,
it was only a matter of time till I get the virus as well,
but let's hope I could keep it down.

Anyway... Happy Weekend, everyone!

a lovely day

I whined about the dark and misty days, but when the
weather showed it's best side today I stayed at home!!
I worked on the torch - mixing colors, making some new
things for my rapidly-reduced-in-volume shop.

lovely day
Can you see the Alps on the horizon? Stunning view today!

And guess what.. there was a time, when I was organized!
I'm amazed :) I found the recipe of my carrot soup again,
which I then made for dinner today.

GINGER CARROT SOUP (for 2 persons)

3 carrots - peeled, thin sliced
2 potatoes - peeled, thin sliced
1/2 sweet sour apple (just because I was in the mood,
not in my original recipe :)) - peeled and sliced
-> put all in a pot, covered with water, let cook

and while they're cooking..
the green part of a leek (I had scallion today) - fine sliced
2cm (or less, just as you like) ginger - fine chopped
-> sauté both in a pan in bits of butter
-> put aside

1TS sunflower seeds (can be replaced with cashew nuts
or peanut or sesame for different tastes :))
-> roasted in a pan
-> put aside

..when the carrots etc. are soft, then
-> puree them using a hand mixer
-> add water (or orange juice), if needed
-> add honey (if you like), salt and creme fraiche
-> served it with the leek, ginger and sunflower seed

Guten Appetit! ^_^

When I was about to throw the organic waste away,
my hands were itching to do something with it.

She's looking sad, eh? Probably because she knew,
I'd throw her away right after I take the photo..

random things

Some random things I don't know how to combine in
a post, so...

1. I'm always amazed by tessellation origami (even
more amazed by the patience of the maker ;)), so I
wanted to try my hands on it. Well, I ended up with
a strange creature. But I think, I've learned some
facts about creasing.. so, maybe next time I will have
a tessellation origami ;)

2. Last year I thought I wouldn't need to go to the
hairdresser again for at least three years. But my
hair had split ends, that I finally let it cut yesterday.

before - after

3. Remember the butterfly, which found it's way to my
kitchen? I let it go after the photo shot. I'm not sure,
how this one came to the stairway. It has been there for
at least two weeks now. I didn't want to let it go outside,
cause it was wet, cold and windy (now I could if I would,
since it's warm again, but I'm not sure for how long..).

lost

Sometimes it was sitting on the curtain, sometimes on
the window sill and the last days it was on the floor.
But I wasn't sure either, how long it would survive in
here, since it doesn't get any food (does anybody know
about how long a peacock butterfly usually can live?
).

So, yesterday I decided to provide it with food. I bought
some oranges for us (my boy is having a cold) and put
a slice on a plastic cover for the butterfly (they always
serve orange and banana in the butterfly house). Using
a thin twig I managed to lift it from the floor to the
orange slice. I watched it for a little while. I couldn't see
it's proboscis, so I'm not sure, either it can eat or not
(and if it can't because it has lost it's proboscis e.g., am
I torturing it by serving the slice of orange?). I realize,
I know nearly nothing(!!) about butterflies...
Later in the evening it sat on the window frame. And
it still is this morning.

peace dove

A friend has given me a link about origami lately, which
has of course brought me back to crease paper :) Thank
you, Akiyo!

So, when I got some sales, which meant to be Christmas
presents, I wanted to put something in the box to make
it Christmas-y without looking too Christmas-y (does it
make sense? LOL). Anyway, I thought of a peace dove.
I've made a stamp, but I wasn't really satisfied. So I
googled a bit to find an origami dove and I found this
instruction.

I've modified it a bit and voilà..

Yes, yes, with the shadow frame.. ^_^

coffee time

It was dark the last days and so was yesterday, when
I took some photos for the new necklace. But this one
reminded me of a Polaroid shot somehow. So, I added
a frame. It's not the style of my shop, but I'm just
loving it ;)

walk!

Today was a beautiful day. Actually I could have ride
my bike, if I had have (let) repaired the tires (they
are mighty old - so, the back one is now broken). But
I haven't! I'm considering to change the tires myself,
but since I haven't even changed the inner tire once,
I'm procrastinating it... But I felt I need exercise. I've
been missing it since I couldn't ride my bike.

I decided to go to the city on foot. I thought along the
way. Thinking, that I didn't manage to turn my anger
into something positive lately and how I let it used my
energy up. Things haven't gone smooth the last days,
but hey, they are here for something good, I think.
There are some lessons I should learn from.

(I got a forwarded mail from a friend lately. I just
looked up on google for the origin and found out, that
some things are screwed up in the mail LOL
Anyway, I'm agree with most of her life lessons.)

anger

up in the sky

Sometimes a short phone call could ruin my mood for
a whole day. Like this noon. Afterwards I felt the urge
to walk to calm me down instead of the cleaning I've
aimed for this morning. So, I did. I went to the forest
and walked around for about one and a half hour.

autumn leafs

The forest was inspiring as usual, but the walk couldn't
really calm me down. I feel somehow really exhausted.
Ugh!!! I'm considering to ignore any phone calls or even
to unplug the telephone on my free weekends...

looking forward

The flyers, the posters and the tickets for our next gigs
are ready. We will sing at three different places and three
great musicians will be accompanying us. I'm looking
forward to those gigs! I'm practicing diligently at home
under my son's supervision - he's an expert since he
knows the songs quite well from the choir weekend :)

listening..

.. to his songs - that's what I'm doing the whole day
while I'm working through my paper piles today. I
love the oriental touch in his songs. This one makes
me dreaming...

fish casserole

.. that's my meal for today :) My son never wants to eat
fish, so I only cook fish, when I'm alone. Normally I'm
pretty lazy and buy ready fish casserole, which I only
have to put in the oven. But yesterday I've bought fresh
pollock and created my own. I buttered the casserole, put
the fish in the casserole, salted, peppered, then covered
with chopped garlic, mozzarella, tomato and onion cubes,
some more salt, olive oil on top of it all and off in the oven
until the mozzarella turns brown, spread some chopped
parsley and chives afterwards and served it with rice.
Yumm...

Hope, you had a great weekend. I'm wishing you a great
start of the new week tomorrow!
