800

My shop has reached 800 hearts today!
Thank you to all of you!

I've played with my new tool today - curved
mandrel. I really love the result and would like
to show you, but I couldn't take it off the
mandrel *sigh* Right now the bead (on the
mandrel of course) is in the fridge. Hope, I can
took it off then.

I've listed one of my fave trifiori today - sweet
dreams
. The sizes of the three flowers are all
different from each other - it makes them more
"alive".
This photo was my son's and my own first choice
for the first photo actually, but as I've listed it,
it looked so dark, that one could hardly see, what
it is. So, I've changed to another one. But I really
love the mood of this photo - like a coming storm :)

calm spring

It has been raining all day long and also windy.
I love rain, but don't like wind at all - except
on hot days. I remember, once I went home
from my Balinese dance course on a heavy
rainy day, as I was about 7 y.o. Of course
I got very wet. So, my mom sent me to
go under the shower. After that I sat in the
reception room (it's quite usual there to have
a room to meet guests), playing with my doll
and listening to the sound of the rain and the
thunder. I will never forget that feeling.
I think, it's one of the reason, why I love
rain and thunder.

My new necklace: calm spring.

sneak peek

Yayy! It's finally not so cold anymore, that I've
managed to make some beads on Saturday.
But as I wanted to make some more on Sunday,
I was running out of gas!!! Hopefully I get the car
later today (my ex and I shared the car), so that
I can buy a new one.

sneak peek

So I could only make one new trifiori necklace.
It's a similar one as my citrus sorbet.
Only the leaf has a different color - I've chosen
lime green, as it's the color of spring for me :)
I have to take more photos later today, so
that I can list it in the afternoon or evening.

It feels so good to make glass beads again :)

love light

I remember to adore
the black-white-red color combo,
as I was working on a round robin set last year.
It's somehow festive and glamorous
(so not for me - a rather casual type ;-)).
The idea of making a festive trifiori was born.
So, I've made some red flower beads yesterday.

And today I've beaded them to a necklace.
The silver leaf charms and silver heart bead
give it a precious touch. I could imagine,
it is worn with a black long dress.
It has a touch of gothic somehow.

Luckily the sun has came out, although
it was very windy and stormy this morning.
I quickly took some photos.
Now it's in my shop already.
It was my fastest listing, I think :-)

trifiori necklace line - a background story

I had an idea of
having a jewelry for an every day use.
It should be playful, joyful and colorful
- good to match many clothing colors.
So, I made a bunch of flower glass beads
in many different colors,
as well as some leaf glass beads.

But as they're ready to be incorporated into jewelry
and lay all together side by side on the table,
I felt that something was wrong.
I didn't found them colorful at all,
even though they were variegated.
I was confused and somehow a bit frustrated.
How can I know if something colorful is,
but not knowing why??
I then made kind of a study about this,
to find out, what colorful means to me.
I know, there must be someone out there,
who has already made a study about this.
But as usual.. I just have to reinvent the wheel,
otherwise I won't get it.

I arranged one, two, three and four beads
and took photos of them.
With and without a green leaf.
I compared them on my computer,
separated them to colorful and not colorful
('love it' and 'dislike it').

Finally I came out with a conclusion, that
combinations of maximum three different colors
plus a green leaf seem colorful to me.
As soon as I've added another color onto it,
I found the combo distracting.
Another conclusion is that
green seem to give the other colors a base.

Now I make the trifiori using
up to 3 base colors for the flowers
and green for the leaf.
Plus another base color for the leather cord,
such as black or brown.
Even though they are quite earthy,
I think they pop.

I'm going to list some in my store in the next days.
Just need days again to write the descriptions ^_^

This is mine - I love it!
