a piece of australia

Talking about journey.. the vase from
Pia, which I've won last December has
arrived on Monday. It's SO beautiful!

a piece of australia

In her note Pia has written, that it
is a little piece of Australia to her and
that the color and texture is like the
ocean. How true!!! Photos don't do it
any justice.

piece of australia

It makes me longing to go back there
again one day. I've been three times
down under a loooong, long time ago.
So I opened up my Australian box,
where I keep every piece of papers
and anything else from our last trip
in 2002. I haven't opened it for years
(was afraid of some memories..).

It must have been taken by my dad or
my brother. My son was 2 y.o.

stones of oz
Some stones I've brought from Oz (too bad,
I don't remember where from - I'm such a
chaotic person!!) and gold dust we've
washed in Ballarat.

Today I set up my projector to look
through the slides I've made on my
trips in 1995 and 1996. Please click
on this photo to watch the slide show
of a few of my fave pictures from over
200 slides ^_^

oz trip

Thanks again, Pia, for bringing me
those sweet memories back with
the vase!

I'm really glad, I've found Pia's blog
thanks to Holly. Not only she is a very
talented person, she is also an adorable
person herself. If you don't know her
yet, you should visit her blog - I'm
sure, you'll love her and her blog!
Since I've found her, I've been following
her posts quietly. But then in December,
as she was having her blog anniversary,
she has posted some links, which I simply
had to click. In her soundscapes series
I found this incredible post. I was so
touched, I simply had to comment...

happy valentine's day!

(under title: tags, awards and shout out :))

The past weeks have been filled with getting
tagged, awarded and also featured. I got tagged
not only in here, but also on Flickr. Thank you,
to all of you!! I just didn't manage to post about
it all up till now.

16 things about me
If you're still curious about me or about this image,
please click on the image
to learn more on Flickr ;)

***

First of all, thank you, Marianna & Paula, for tagging
me! Here are the rules of this tag:
  • link to the person who tagged you,
  • post the rules on your blog,
  • write six random things about yourself,
  • tag six people at the end of your post and
    link to them,
  • let each person know they've been tagged.
And these are six random things about me:
1. I find patterns are half as attractive as textures
or colors. Most of the fabrics that I've bought are
without patterns, but plain colors.
2. I'm not born for HP - I kept forgetting to take
it with me or to recharge the battery. I rather
love my family's first telephone, which looked like
model 500 telephone.
3. Sometimes I really hate technology, as it is
sometimes a step back for the life quality, if you
know what I mean...
4. My first dog was a Pekingese, which I got from
my grandma. He was quite a personality. He was
only nice to my mom and I.
5. My beloved dog was our Brindle Great Dane
(her ears were not cut though luckily!). She
obeyed me and slept in my bed. Sometimes she
took over the bed, when she was the first *lol*
The night before she died, she rolled herself to
me on the couch to say goodbye. She was so ill,
that she could not stand up anymore. I stayed
awake as long as I could. She died while I was
sleeping..
6. I miss all the pets we ever had. Psstt... maybe
we will get a cat or two in the future. Even though
I still can't imagine it. Me and cats! My grandma's
cats had always scratched me, that's why I didn't
like them as pet - only outside.

My turn to tag others now:
AgapeBridal
joojoo
Morrgan
Swiedebie
TrinketsAndRoses
UnaOdd
Looking forward to know more about you ^_^

The PROXIMIDADE award was passed to me by
Antigoni, Aysetugrul and Twolefthand.

Proximidade is described as follows:
'This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY -
nearness in space, time and relationships. These
blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind
bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are
not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement!
Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes
are cut, even more friendships are propagated.
Please give more attention to these writers!'

This blog award should be sent to your favorite
eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward
to eight of their favorites. You should include the
text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement
blog.

So, I'm passing this award to the blogs, I'm tagging
above ^_^ and two more sweet blogs:
AgapeBridal
joojoo
lilaruby
Morrgan
MyDearDarling
Swiedebie
TrinketsAndRoses
UnaOdd

Okay, this is already a long post. But I want to
mention the feature I got in MyDearDarling's
blog a while ago. Dindi has shouted out to me.
Check MyDearDarling's as well as Dindi's blog,
if you have a chance. They are so different, but
both so sweet!!!

And have you already seen mine and other
bedrooms in StarOfTheEast's yesterday post
in her blog? So interresting to take a peak in
other bedrooms ^_^

Now I'm wishing you a lovely Valentine's Day
(or the rest of it - it took me so long to write
this) with your dearest ones!!

Edit:
Forgive my forgetfulness.. Treasurefield has
featured my blog in hers a few days ago.
Please check her blog and shop on Etsy. But she
has also another shop.

geranium

What a lovely surprise I found in my mailbox
today. My geranium should be up in a day or
two on COLOURlovers and as I went there, it
is already up!! So nice to see people using it :)
You could find it under the nature patterns.

Thank you so much, COLOURlovers!!

craziness :)

Talking about doing crazy things in my last post,
I've finally listed another crazy creation. Crazy,
cause I don't know, if people would like it, if
anyone would buy it and still I list it. I think,
it's my ego - I just wanna show off, that I DO
something different, than just the sweet flowers
and berries and thus don't care about a sale :)
And still, I'm glad about the positive feedback
from my fellow EST-sellers :)

complicated

The material, which inspired me making this,
was the gray frame - junk from a board game.
I knew, as I've seen them, that I have to make
something using them. There are 4 of them
in different colors - gray, orange, neon green
and purple. I don't know, where the other three
will lead me to...

you make my day

I've got the "you make my day"
award from Ale aka Ixela a few
days ago (maybe even weeks -
slow me!!) and from Suse aka
Revoluzzza before. Thank you!!

It's hard to choose 5 blogs to pass this award on.
Actually I'd love to pass this back on to Ale and
Suse. Ale makes the most beautiful collages of
photos of items, as she features other Etsy sellers
in her blog, and she is a lovely friend, who has
helped me in building the EST-Googlemap. Her
jewelry are beautiful and sometimes cute :) Look
at her shop or more in her gallery on Flickr.
And if you don't know Suse yet, I've written a bit
about her here. Yes, you do make my day, Ale & Suse!

But ok, not to make it into a ping pong game, I've
chosen 5 more blogs to pass the award on (even
though I'd like to pass this to more people on -
far more people make my day than just 5):

1. To my dear friends on Etsy, who make my
day in one and another way again and again.
Thank you, girls!!
Ira aka Iragrant, Renate aka Kreativlink,
Mitsy aka Artmind and Alisa aka Treasurefield.

2. To moonstitches, who always makes
my day with her photos and blog posts, whenever
I see/read it. I've found her gallery on Flickr
and went to read her blog. Her blog was the very
first blog, that I've read! Thanks, Alex!

Have a lovely new week, you all! *hugs*

night owl

Oh my, I should have been in bed at least
3 hours ago. But as usual, something has
kept me away from my bed.
I've strolled on the web to keep up with
blogs I love uhm.. I've neglected this lately
and found me mentioned in Minderjahr's
latest post. Thank you, Suse!

Minderjahr is a famous German blog.
Suse writes about life in Berlin (and more)
in such a sanguine way. Berlin way maybe? :)
I've first 'met' Suse aka Revoluzzza on Flickr.
I really love Flickr btw, as I've met so many
talented people there.

She creates lovely items! I love her adorable
and dangerous dolls. She sells them in her shop.

While I was writing this, my boy has called me.
I went there and he told me something.
Guess what it was?! He had an idea, which colors
I should take for my next brooch!! :-)
He's such a sweatheart. He wishes me
good luck each time I list a new item just
like today .. uhm, yesterday (CET time :o))!
first berries

I have another one finished actually,
but it isn't well balanced - so it's mine :D
Oh well, this night owl has to go to bed now
or it will turn into a zombie!!

European Street Team

Since I've joined the EST,
I've been chatting a lot on the forum.
We help each other, support each other,
share stories, laugh and cry together.
I'm glad, I've found them.
Thank you, Euro-Etsian!

Many of them have blogs too.
Morrgan have featured my sunset sky
in her blog yesterday. Thanks a bunch!!
She makes cute knitted creatures, accessoires,
as well as pictures and ACEO photos.
As I don't knit myself,
I always adore people who can do this.
Especially people who can do 3D knitting.
Hannibal - the cutes man-eating plant ever! -
is one of my fave items in her shop.
Now you can even buy the pattern
to make him yourself. Come click and look!

what a weekend!

On Friday I've joined the VirtualLabs again.
Again, they told us amongst others to join
street teams and indie community.
I've joined indiepublic the other day.
So now, I've joined the European Street Team (EST)
and also We Love Etsy.
I really enjoy EST - they're a happy, chatty folk,
but I need more time to discover the two communities.
I feel like I'm running out of time!!

On Saturday I've found my items in 3 different treasury lists.
This morning while I was reading and writing in the forum,
I was told that red velvet was on the front page
- my very first front page!!
I'm really thankful. Thank you, EtsyLabs!
It didn't bring me a sale, but many hearts and views.
I didn't know before,
why all the people are SO thrilled being on the frontpage.
Now I know and I AM thrilled about it too :-))
The view has gone up just like a rocket
- from under 50 to over 400 just for that item!!!
And it affects also the other items too -
so how cool is that?!!
