holiday is coming - part two

I've called for a drawing a few days ago,
which ended last night.
Thanks, all, for your participations!
I love reading your comments.

Most of you make your own cards
for the holiday season - that's great!
I've only made my own cards twice
(after I've moved to Germany).
One was a digital drawing I've sent via emails
(which is on my crashed old PC *cry*),
and the other one was with a photo
of my baby boy in Santa look :-)
I guess, I have to make another one next year ;-)

I've finished the drawing this afternoon.
I've put down each commentator's name
on a piece of paper, folded and mixed them.
My son has helped me to draw a name
(he was excited to do this -
a break from his oh so boring homework :-)).

Congratulations, Erna!! Please send me
your address via convo or my gmail account,
so that I can send you the card
and the glassy surprise soon :-)

BTW.. ArtMind has introduced me
to saplingpress' lovely work. Thank you!!
I love this one and I will definitely need
the note pad and tons of these cards!!
I've found this beautiful cards recently.
made by starparticle.

ArtMind herself has beautiful cards in her shop.
I will shop there, as soon as I know,
whether my friend get a baby boy or girl :-)
She's having sales on her scratch your wish cards
for New Year right now - go get them!!

do you collect?

I sometimes ask myself, why people like to collect.
I can't explain myself - it just an impulse sometimes.
I remember, I started with some stamps.
Later on I've collected plush (I had a bunk bed -
I slept above and my stuffed animals below :-D).
It continued with many other things.

Luckily I have to move to Germany,
so I've started with nothing again.
But if I look around in my room now, I have collected
much to much stuff, without even realizing it.
Loads of fabrics, glass rods, papers, postcards, woods..
and I've already sorted out many of my books.
I need more space!!

Last year I've bought some ACEO.
I have a small collection of five and I love each of them.
I've seen annarubyking just listed an ACEO
of her beautiful birds last week.
I just couldn't stand it - so I've bought it :-)
They reminds me of the birds
in my father's aviary in Jakarta.

She have also sent me another beautiful ACEO.
I'm just in love with them.

Anna has many beautiful items in her shop
- not only ACEO, she also makes earrings.
And I love her new style - Matryoshka girls.
Just go there and see.
Maybe you'll also start to collect? ;-)

holiday is coming

As I was a child, I was always thrilled
to get UNICEF cards from my father's secretary.
I didn't know, where to get them in Indonesia.
So I was really happy
to found an active UNICEF team in town,
as I moved to Constance.
I've joined them and been active for about 4 years,
'till I haven't enough time to attend the meetings.
Now I only help them out on the yearly Christmas sales.
But it's always fun, since I'm still in love with the cards.

This year however I've decided to buy handmade cards.
I've signed the handmade pledge, remember? ;-)
No, that's not the only reason actually.
I love letterpress. It's such a beautiful art.
On Etsy I've found so many people
selling letterpress items. My love grows :-)
I love especially the cards made by port2portpress.
They're so delicate.

Pine Holiday Cards by port2portpress

I want to share my love to letterpress with you.
Everybody who leave a comment to this post
till Dec 10th, 2007, will take part in the drawing.
One winner will get one of these pine cards
and a glassy surprise from me.
So, simply click and say hi :o)

patterns of fall

Things I love about fall:
the colors and the patterns (and sometimes the rain ;-)).
I think this year I've missed the colors,
since I've been no where that much.
Uuhm, to be honest..
I often forgot to take my camera with me.

Yesterday I enjoyed these patterns AND
I have my camera with me :-)

European Street Team

Since I've joined the EST,
I've been chatting a lot on the forum.
We help each other, support each other,
share stories, laugh and cry together.
I'm glad, I've found them.
Thank you, Euro-Etsian!

Many of them have blogs too.
Morrgan have featured my sunset sky
in her blog yesterday. Thanks a bunch!!
She makes cute knitted creatures, accessoires,
as well as pictures and ACEO photos.
As I don't knit myself,
I always adore people who can do this.
Especially people who can do 3D knitting.
Hannibal - the cutes man-eating plant ever! -
is one of my fave items in her shop.
Now you can even buy the pattern
to make him yourself. Come click and look!
